Amanda Holley

Mount Alvernia College

Amanda Holley has only been a teacher for one year, but has already shown exceptional ability in her teaching.

She brings a positive atmosphere to her classroom, through constant engagement and positive reinforcement of her students’ learning.

She is able to achieve this through constant reflection on her practice and how it affects her students’ learning.

Amanda has dedicated herself to intensive programs over summer breaks in the past six years.

In addition to this, she has participated in numerous professional development sessions, inside and outside her campus.

Her passion for teaching shows in how she designs lessons for her students – created so students can enjoy, be engaged and be challenged by the content.

She also takes care in differentiating for all the diverse learning styles of her students, making sure all her students have an opportunity to reach their goals.

Lessons are constantly adjusted to meet the ever-changing needs of her students.

Amanda is also an active participant in the school community.

Not only is she a teacher, but she also leads the choir at Mount Alvernia College.

She selflessly volunteers to help out in school camps and professional development sessions. Her positive attitude rubs off with her peers, students and parents.

Principal Dr Kerrie Tuite says Amanda should be commended for her work.

“She is an energetic and enthusiastic teacher who seeks to extend herself and her students,” Dr Tuite says.

Congratulations Amanda on your nomination.
