Brooke Riddle

Saint Catherine's Catholic College
Brooke Riddle draws on her training in hospitality to offer her students at St Catherine’s Catholic College an enriched learning experience in her Food Technology and Tourism subjects.

Brooke is also a Year 8 Homeroom teacher and each morning ensures her homegroup feels welcomed to the school community.  She supports a student with autism in her homeroom and ensures she puts various processes and procedures in place to make the start of each day as smooth as possible for all homeroom members.

From a pedagogical perspective, she has taken the time to ensure she understands the Responsible Thinking Process and willingly attends any additional school-based professional development on this topic.
Brooke has demonstrated confidence in taking on lead teacher roles allocated to her throughout the year.  Both the breadth and depth of her curriculum knowledge continue to expand as she teaches across such a variety of subjects.

Over the last 18 months, Brooke has tirelessly offered her support in a number of extracurricular activities and on a weekly basis she gives up her own time to run a healthy cooking class with the College’s Sports Excellence group.  During each of these events Brooke quickly builds a relationship with students, parents, staff and the wider school community.

Congratulations Brooke on your Queensland College of Teachers Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award nomination.
